Movie and TV streaming service Netflix went live across Africa on 6 January 2016
Movie fans and series addicts across the country have reportedly flocked to the service, keen to have their favourite shows and films at the click of a button.
However, with the vast majority of people having no access to fast fibre connections, many are reliant on mobile internet and relatively slow speeds.
Opera Max is a free data-management and data-savings app that shrinks videos and photos on almost any app on mobile data connects, as well as Wi-Fi. This is good news for Netflix viewers as Opera Max saves data on HTTPS videos without any significant loss in quality. It even reduces buffering on any connection, including crowded Wi-Fi networks.
The compression technology can extend data plans by up to 50 per cent for free. The amount of savings users will see will depend on the type of mobile or Wi-Fi network and mobile device they are using.
