p>Redknee has opened a new office in Beirut, Lebanon, expanding its existing presence in Dubai, UAE, Nairobi, Kenya and Johannesburg, South Africa.

The addition of the Beirut office enables the Company to provide dedicated, local support to its customers in the Middle East and Africa.
It is predicted that by 2013 subscribers in the Middle East will have increased by 50 percent according to Telegeography Research, while the African market has already experienced a 49.3 per cent growth since 2002 according to a recent report from Ernst and Young.  Until recently the growth of these markets has been driven by the increasing numbers of subscribers, all of whom have been using basic voice services. However, operators are now readjusting their focus to introduce valued-added services to drive mobile data revenues. Informa Telecoms & Media projects that the Middle East alone will see mobile data revenues rise by 118 per cent over five year period up to 2012.
Redknee is currently providing its advanced converged billing, real-time rating and charging and interconnect billing capabilities to multiple operators across both regions. Redknee’s solutions are enabling operators to empower their subscribers, which in turn is playing a significant role in encouraging new service adoption and increasing ARPU.
“The growing telecommunications markets of Africa and the Middle East are a key part of Redknee’s growth strategy. We believe that as communication service providers continue their growth and evolution, they will increase their investment in replacing their legacy billing and service infrastructure to support new services, improve the subscriber experience and realize increased business success,” Lucas Skoczkowski, Redknee’s CEO, commented.
”With the addition of our Beirut, Lebanon office, we look to increase our direct regional support to our existing and prospective customers across Africa and the Middle East.  Beirut, with its skilled multi-lingual talent pool, will be an important center for Redknee’s regional leadership, technical excellence, sales & marketing, as well as product delivery & support.  This is in-line with our strategic growth plan.”
