Africa Internet Holding (AIH) has announced that it has launched hotel booking website, Jovago, which will offer customers a portfolio of more than 200 hotels from across Africa to choose from

The hotel site went live first in Lagos, Nigeria, Rocket Internet subsidiary AIH revealed in a statement.

Jovago said that it would also offer more than 140,000 hotels worldwide on its booking site.

Holidaymakers in Nigeria who are seeking to book hotels to stay at, more commonly use agencies or walk into hotels directly rather than using an online book system, AIH said.

“Jovago provides all information about hotels, as well as means to compare different options and find the ideal location,” a statement by Rocket Internet read.

The company’s co-CEO Jeremy Hodara said that Jovago will help businessmen and travellers find more reliable accommodation.

“Customers have the option to choose between paying at the hotel or using the secure online payment option — without any booking fees,” the statement continued.
