SAMENA Telecommunications Council and Tech Mahindra will jointly host the ‘Beyond Connectivity 2018 - In The Future’ summit, Tech Mahindra’s annual communications, media and entertainment (CME) summit, in Dubai on 5 April 2018

The event is one of the leading CME conferences in the region and aims to bring together representatives of the public and the private sectors, including leaders and professionals from telecom operators, telecoms technology companies and leading consulting firms, active within the ICT arena.

The one-day Summit is set to provide a strategic knowledge-sharing platform for SAMENA Council's members and Industry leaders to discuss the evolving telecommunications landscape and industry challenges.

In addition, it will also highlight themes such as artificial intelligence (AI)and software transformation, IoT and smart cities, customer experience, networks, cloud and security.

“The Summit aims to provide a comprehensive view into the future of telecom industry and the impact that software, disaggregation, opensource, AI and IOT will bring as the future unfolds,” said Manish Vyas, president communications business and chief executive for network services at Tech Mahindra.

Speaking about the importance of this event, Bocar A BA, CEO and board member of SAMENA Telecommunications Council, said, “Dialogue, co-operation and co-ordination in understanding what the future holds for us are central to our ability in being able to make the most of the promises it holds. For this, we need to understand what lies in the future and how the presence of new technologies, new man-created intelligence, and hyper-connectedness, whereby more machines than humans will be connected on our telecom networks, will impact our digital experience.”

Among other industry speeches, a keynote by Telecommunication Regulatory Authority of UAE's deputy director general, Majed Sultan Al Mesmar, will be followed by addresses from seminar hosts, SAMENA Council and Tech Mahindra. Heads, partners and CEOs of telecom operators across South Asia, the Middle East and North Africa are expected to participate in panel discussions along with the ‘In the Future’ summit’s global sponsors Oracle, PTC and Red Hat.
