Internet service provider iWayAfrica along with Israel-based DiViNetworks has agreed to provide bandwidth services to corporate customers in Zimbabwe

The bandwidth service would be enabled by DiViNetworks, which provides Internet solutions to its customers across 50 countries.

According to iWayAfrica, the DiViNetworks’ bandwidth service does not require any hardware in premise unlike other MPLS solutions. It can be set up within minutes and is easily configured and managed by IT personnel, added the company.

Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) is a mechanism in high-performance telecommunication networks that directs data from one network node to the next based on short path labels rather than long network addresses, avoiding complex lookups in a routing table.

Nhena Nyagura, head of business at iWayAfrica, said, “International links are the arteries for corporate customers in Africa. For the first time, our corporate customers can benefit from network services that only huge enterprises could afford to support. The new value added services we offer meet our enterprise customers’ needs and generate significant new revenues for us.”

The flexibility of the new bandwidth service would enable setting policies for any content or application, such as video streaming, social networks, Amazon Cloud Services and salesforce.com, noted Nyagura.
