The Internet-based car rental scheme, ‘Smart Cab’ has been launched in Benin City to meeting the rising demand for taxi booking services in Edo State,  reports Nigerian newspaper Thisday

 The car rental scheme, ‘Smart Cab’, can only be accessed from a customer's mobile phone, according to Thisday. 

The new service is available through an app  on all Android and IOS Devices and has three packages with a base fare per minute, while the Smart saver Vehicles are equipped with free Wi-Fi services and Anti-Riot Security.

Presenting the scheme in Benin City, the country manager, Smart Cab Nigeria, Jubril Arogundade said the service, which is aimed at youths, was launched in Lagos in February this year. As it proved to be success it was agreed upon to introduce the scheme in Edo State. Thisday noted.

The newspaper reported that the director of Samson’s Resources and Benin City manager Smart Cab, Samson Bakare, said that the firm has opened up opportunities for those residing there.
