telecomstower kraifreedomNEC Corporation is set to attend AfricaCom 2013 taking place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, South Africa from 12-14 November 2013

The company will roll out various solutions for telecom operators, including Software-Defined Networking (SDN) solutions which aim to deliver more flexibility, it said.

"By leveraging our strong technical capabilities and wealth of experience in large-scale network implementation around the world, NEC has been an integral part of the rapidly growing African telecom industry," said Eugene le Roux, managing director, NEC Corporation subsidiary NEC Africa Ltd.

"We continue helping telecom operators in the region to be more competitive by enabling the efficient and reliable delivery of advanced communications services," le Roux added.

Shinya Kukita, chief engineer, Global Business Unit, NEC Corporation is set to present a keynote session titled ‘The impact of SDN’ on 14 November 2013, the company revealed.

According to Kukita, the presentation will highlight the key role that SDN will take to improve network flexibility and service demands, while establishing business benefits, potential applications and examples of the new technology.
