Thomson Video Networks have announced the new ViBE VS7000 video system — a fully integrated IP video solution for convergent applications such as Web TV and Over-The-Top (OTT) services delivery as well as traditional IPTV

Fifteen years of best-in-class video quality and innovation in compression are built into the ViBE VS7000, which combines support for all major audio and video codecs, the latest adaptive streaming formats, and a video operating system running on resilient IT platforms for native redundancy and scalability.

The Thomson ViBE VS7000 video system, which the company will demo during the 2011 NAB Show, encompasses Thomson's next-generation compression platform for outstanding picture quality in an all-IP environment, with live broadcast-quality encoding.

Flexible

Optimized for versatility and easy convergent operation, the Thomson ViBE VS7000 provides a flexible way to customize workflow to meet the needs of every application. A simple but powerful Workflow Builder enables the creation of live, file-based, and mixed workflows for any kind of network, through a clear graphical interface.

Supporting all major codecs and formats including MPEG transport streams, Adobe Flash, Apple http Live Streaming, and Microsoft Smooth Streaming, and with video resolution up to 1920x1080 in progressive and interlaced modes, the Thomson VS7000 is scalable for input channels and output profiles, with support for multiple output formats per channel.

Advanced video and audio preprocessing, automatic loudness control, integrated load balancing and failover, with centralized Web-based operation and SOAP/Web services support for external interfacing, make the VS7000 a full-featured solution for convergent applications.

Rapid business growth

"Thomson Video Networks conceived the ViBE VS7000 to meet the demand for a convenient, superior picture quality and easily managed high-performance platform for IPTV delivery, Web TV streaming, and OTT services broadcasting," said Christophe Delahousse, president, Thomson Video Networks. "It's a dense system with hot-swappable redundant components, which can scale from a single blade to a fully populated unit to support rapid business growth."
