South Africa based-Adapt IT has purchased cloud telecommunications intelligence and management solutions provider AspiviaUnison for US$18.46mn

Effective from 1 September 2014, Adapt IT said that the acquisition of the telecommunications management expertise is in line with its strategy of targeted acquisitive growth, and will enable the company to further diversify and bolster its customer base especially in the financial services industry (FSI).

Sbu Shabalala, CEO of Adapt IT, said, “AspiviaUnison has a robust entrepreneurial management team and generates strong annuity income from the cloud-based solution set. The invaluable IT vendor partnerships AspiviaUnison has formed to date will be a crucial part of the growth strategy and we are excited by the possibility to extend these to our customer base in South Africa and into the rest of Africa.”

Andrew Harris, director of AspiviaUnison, added that the company improves communication efficiency, curbs wastage and identifies coverage with the long-term view to deliver continuous value within the organisation’s communication environment.

For 14 years, AspiviaUnison has been providing telecommunications lifecycle management (TLM), telecommunications management services (TMS) and mobile device spend management (MDSM) software solutions. The company provides a variety of specialised turnkey IT solutions and services to the education, mining and manufacturing, energy and financial services sectors.

Adapt IT represents Microsoft, SAP, IBM and Oracle and the AspiviaUnison acquisition will be complementary, enhancing the overall Microsoft capability of the group.
