Mamello Selamolela has been appointed as a partner by management consulting firm Boston Consulting Group (BCG), which holds expertise in the technology, media, and telecommunications (TMT) industries
Selamolela, who previously managed the Group's strategy and innovation at Vodacom Group in Africa, expressed enthusiasm for the role, stating, "This role provides me with the ability to combine my practical understanding of the industry and the unique challenges faced on the continent with my management consulting background when engaging with our clients."
Selamolela, an experienced senior executive with a history in the telecommunications industry and management consulting, has worked at MTN and McKinsey & Company in London and Johannesburg. Jan Gildemeister, managing director and senior partner at BCG, South Africa, welcomed Selamolela to the leadership team, emphasizing her industry and consulting expertise.

With over 15 years of telco and consulting experience, Selamolela is a strong business development professional with deep expertise in digital strategy and transformation, business strategy, commercial and operations management, innovation, and multi-industry strategy consulting. She currently serves as the chair of the Industry Advisory Panel on digital transformation for the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), shaping digital technology research and industrial application.
Selamolela, holding Honours and Master’s degrees from the University of Cape Town and an MBA from London Business School, expressed excitement about addressing challenges with significant impacts on the growth of TMT players, the acceleration of digital infrastructure across the continent, and the advancement of societies and economies.
