First Bank of Nigeria and the UAE-based Etisalat have partnered to make mobile payments more accessible and secure for Nigerians
According to the partnership, First Bank of Nigeria's Firstmonie Mobile Money service and Etisalat’s EasyWallet application will combine together to provide mobile money service in Nigeria, stated Etisalat.
Folake Ani-Mumuney, head of marketing and corporate communications at First Bank of Nigeria, said, “Firstmonie Mobile Money has continued to show its commitment by upholding the financial inclusion drive by the Central Bank of Nigeria and this is evident in its recent award of the Best Mobile Money Operator in Nigeria by the EFInA Financial Inclusion Awards.
Partnering with Etisalat to promote mobile payments further demonstrates our commitment to lead innovation in the development of secure mobile payment solutions.”
Firstmonie Mobile Money service enables customers to access financial and other value added services through their mobile phones, the company said.
EasyWallet application allow users to pay bills and pay for goods and services, receive and send money to friends and family, withdraw cash, top-up airtime account and also provides access to manage their bank accounts.
