US-based electronic payment solutions provider VeriFone Systems has announced the launch of SAIL EMV, which will be implemented by Standard Bank South Africa
The SAIL EMV platform will enable banks to provide smartphone and tablet-based chip-and-PIN card payments solutions to small and medium-sized entrepreneurs.
Standard Bank South Africa head of acquiring, Jean Ochse, said, “Merchants are eager for a complete integrated mobile payments solution and VeriFone’s SAIL will provide us with the ability to develop and deliver customised services locally that leverage VeriFone’s worldwide expertise.”
VeriFone informed that the platform will provide banks and acquirers in more than 100 countries across six continents with a solution to expand their product portfolios with custom-branded services that enable mobile merchants to accept chip-and-PIN payments.
The company added that the solution would include payment adapters designed to meet industry security requirements, mobile phone software development kit for easy integration with iOS and Android mobile platforms and a secure transaction management system leveraging VeriFone’s Point Gateway payment-as-a-service global infrastructure.
SAIL EMV will also add to VeriFone’s suite of chip-and-PIN enabled smartphone and tablet solutions, including PAYware Mobile Enterprise hardware and VeriFone GlobalBay mobile software, that have already been deployed globally with larger retailers.
