Gilat Telecom has been providing solutions in Africa, Asia and the Middle East. The company has been operational in Cameroon since 2015 and is part of the Viettel Group of operators.
It has a customer base of around five million and is the third largest operator in Cameroon after Orange and MTN.
Nexttel will use Gilat Telecom’s fibre network in Cameroon and across Africa to provide a fast and reliable broadband service to its customers.
Dan Zajicek, CEO of Gilat Telecom, said, “Demand for mobile broadband services is very high in Cameroon as, of course, people want to be able to access online services from their phone over a reliable and fast network. We are investing heavily in our infrastructure across Africa and this is enabling us to win large customers like Nexttel. We will continue to play a major part in Africa’s digital transformation.”
Gilat Telecom has built data centres across Africa with both public cloud and its own Service-As-You-Go cloud services supported in its POPs in Ghana, Nigeria, Uganda and Zambia. It also operates successful ISPs in Uganda and Zambia.
