Galaxy Backbone Ltd. (GBB) has raised the bar in terms of provision of digital infrastructure in Nigeria
In line with the pillars of the National Digital Economy Policy & Strategy (NDEPS), the company commissioned a state-of-the-art modular Tier IV data centre in Kano, Nigeria. This facility is one of only two Tier IV data centres in the country and one of the very few across sub-Saharan Africa. It was designed and constructed in conformity with the standards of high efficiency, scalability, availability and security as certified by the Uptime Institute.
To mark the auspicious occasion, the President and Commander-in-Chief of Nigeria was on site to commission the data center which is set to support people and businesses.
As a nation with a young population of growing technology experts; small & medium enterprises cut across the financial services; manufacturing; health care; and professional services, this Infrastructure comes at a great time for the country as the population can leverage this Tier IV data centre for hosting, colocation or cloud services. The new facility delivered by GBB falls under the highest level of data centres globally and is completely fault tolerant and has maximum redundancy and disaster recover components.
