Leading African ISP, Africa Online, will expand its services in Tanzania, it was revealed this week
Gondwana International Networks (GIN), which acquired Africa Online in December 2013, announced that not only will it be expanding its VSAT services in the East African country, it will also launch its managed infrastructure and services solution, iManage.
Winston Smith, general manager of terrestrial services for GIN and Africa Online, said, “Africa Online is very excited about the VSAT expansion in Tanzania in both the consumer and enterprise markets.
“VSAT offers easy to deploy connectivity solutions, which compete very favourably with other terrestrial offerings like DSL and fibre.”
Smith added that iManage had already been successfully launched by GIN in six other African countries, saying, “There is significant demand for level three managed services support as cloud simply cannot deliver on its own.”
Based in neighbouring Kenya, Africa Online is one of the largest internet service providers in Africa, operating in ten different countries.
