Samsung Electronics West Africa and the Federal Ministry of Education have partnered to launch new initiative to digitise classrooms across Nigeria
The initiative, called ‘Smart School Rollout’ is said to help digitise classrooms on the platform of mobile learning across unity schools in Nigeria.
Samsung tablet devices will be paired with relevant and applicable educational content, customised with Skool Media content, while also kitting classrooms across the schools with Samsung electronic boards, wireless printers and wireless connectivity.
A spokeswoman for the Ministry of Information, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, said that the Ministry are 'indeed grateful' for the help the Ministry of Education has received to train its teachers.
"We encourage all beneficiaries of this project to take full ownership of the project and let the improved quality of teaching reflect in our students’ results,” Dr. Folasade added.
Samsung Electronics B2B director based in West Africa, Charles Ojei, said, "This makes the classroom interactive, collaborative and conducive for students and teachers. The solution also provides security of the device and helps the schools filters contents consumed by students. It makes the device purely for academic purpose."
