PCCW Global, a subsidiary of Hong Kong’s premier telecommunications provider, PCCW Limited, has enhanced its Ethernet solutions, offering enterprise customers highly scalable and more reliable Global LAN/MAN/WAN Ethernet Solutions with widespread coverage in more than 70 countries.

The enhanced service, the Global Ethernet Solutions, links PCCW Global’s global Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH) platform delivering “Dedicated Ethernet” services with the globally deployed MPLS backbone infrastructure which delivers “Switched Ethernet”. It also leverages the advantages of synchronized interconnects with PCCW Global’s worldwide Ethernet partners and its intelligent routing capabilities.

Increased business efficiency

Dedicated and Switched Ethernet Services are ideal for delivering point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, and multipoint-to-multipoint Ethernet connections. Both solutions ensure enterprise customers can benefit from increased business efficiency and operational productivity with guaranteed full use of bandwidth and service pledges under Service Level Agreement (SLA). The solutions offer greater flexibility in terms of scalability and enhanced feature options compared to legacy transport solutions.

Mr. Marc Halbfinger, PCCW Global’s Chief Executive Officer, said, “PCCW Global is making it our mission to extend network coverage and service availability for our customers worldwide and to satisfy the ever-growing demands for high quality and cost-effective international Ethernet connectivity. To further PCCW Global’s expertise in international connectivity, this enhancement has significantly improved our existing portfolio of global communications services. Enterprises can seamlessly and efficiently access their offices in different continents, as though they were located on the same LAN infrastructure.”
