SkyVision Global Networks has announced the implementation of a project with South Atlantic Petroleum (SAPETRO) that will provide the Nigerian oil and gas company with connectivity services in Benin
The five-year contract includes the installation of a full suite of SkyVision connectivity solutions and an end-to-end voice and data solution, based on multiple technologies, integration and professional services.
SAPETRO’s expertise includes oil and gas exploration with extensive development and production assets in the region, and the company is recognised for its activities in Nigeria, Benin and offshore East Africa.
Martin Trachsel, CEO of SAPETRO, said "We are thrilled to have engaged the services of SkyVision for this important project which is geared towards providing robust high-tech turnkey communication infrastructure to support our operations in the Sèmè Field. We found SkyVision’s comprehensive suite of services, technological expertise and pricing, a compelling offer and one which met our expectations."
The project also includes mesh VSAT and wireless point to multipoint connections for SAPETRO's offices and operational sites, mobile terrestrial units and vessels, coupled with the integration of SkyVision services, including voice and telephony over IP, two-way radios, mobile satellite phones, managed firewall and Wi-Fi.
Jean-Daniel Tragus, oil and gas sales director at SkyVision, said, "SAPETRO required a highly experienced and reliable partner that would deliver comprehensive services to meet its specific needs."
This partnership marks an important milestone for SkyVision and furthers SkyVision’s commitment to the oil and gas industry in Africa, one of the company’s main focus areas, it said.
