Redington Value has been selected as a VMware distributor in West, East and Central Africa (WECA) to introduce virtualisation and cloud solutions into the African continent

Following solid growth in the region, the value-added distribution division of Redington Gulf aims to reach out to resellers in African countries with the new deal.

“The WECA region has been an area of tremendous growth for VMware and Redington’s appointment will fuel this growth, adding valuable support to the partner channel and subsequently to customers in the region,” stated Chris Norton, southern Africa regional director for VMware.

“We believe that through their efforts in taking our solutions to and developing skills in the African market, the company will bring the reality of the software defined data centre, hybrid computing and end user computing to the region.”

Commenting on the partnernship, Norton added, "Our partnership with Redington will allow them to further assist their customer’s in making this a reality for businesses throughout Africa.”

Redington Gulf has a distribution chain that provides services to resellers throughout Africa, including Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Ghana, Nigeria, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Kenya and Rwanda.
