Airtel Zambia has launched the new BlackBerry Z10 smartphone that is based on the re-designed, re-engineered and re-invented BlackBerry 10 platform

The new BlackBerry Z10 smartphone will give users “a powerful and unique new mobile computing experience”, according to a statement issued by Airtel Zambia.

The Z10 is the fastest and most advanced Blackberry smartphone yet, and offers customers a smarter experience that continuously adapts to their needs.

Airtel Zambia managing director Navdeep Kapur said, “Airtel prides itself in offering the market the latest and most innovative new products and services. This enables our customers access to the latest technology and widest range of innovative services at a reasonable cost.

“The BlackBerry Z10 smartphone combined with Airtel’s network and service plans gives customers a great communication experience, including easy access to social networks like Facebook and Twitter, and of course, the hugely popular BlackBerry Messenger,” he added.

Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics has offloaded 3,000 Samsung Galaxy S4s on the Zambian market, with most of the units being bought by Zamtel, the country’s parastatal firm.

Samsung business leader for southern Africa Adien Rosseau said the company is expected to offload more phones on the Zambian market.

“Our first orders into Zambia were about 3,000 units. We would have wanted to offload more, but the global demand is quite high. The sales in southern Africa have been excellent with 10,000 units being sold out in the last week of April and an additional 10,000 units in the first week of May,’’ he said.

Rosseau was confident that the Galaxy S4 would receive a positive response on the Zambian market.
