Telecommunication equipments giant, Huawei, has set up the first 4G TD-LTE network in Ghana to enable faster video streaming and Internet downloads for its customers in the country

Huawei demonstrated the new services, which also enables video conferencing, before delegates at the International Conference Centre and the Office of the President Annex in Accra, Ghana between 2-4 October 2013.

The demonstrations took place during the ITU Africa Regional Prepatory meeting for the World Telecommunication Development Conference 2014.

Company officials also set-up two new smart devices, the Huawei Ascend Mate and the Huawei Mediapad 10 FHD at the conference, both of which received good reviews from industry experts according to Huawei.

The Mate has a 6.1 inch screen and provides the visual experience of a tablet and the convenience of a mobile phone intertwined, while the Mediapad has a 10.1 inch full HD screen tablet, which supports LTE network and the strongest 16-core GPU, the company said.

Huawei’s 4G TD-LTE network is set to make Ghana's communications sector more reliable and efficient, according to representatives of the company.
