Flexenclosure, a supplier of advanced and environmentally friendly telecom base station site solutions, recently announced the opening of a new office in Nairobi, Kenya.

p>Flexenclosure, a supplier of advanced and environmentally friendly telecom base station site solutions, recently announced the opening of a new office in Nairobi, Kenya.

The objective is to strengthen the company’s position on the important African market and to be better able to support its clients in the region, many of which are already using the company’s E-site solution or Swithing Stations.

The new Nairobi office is already fully operational and is headed by Jonas Högström, Flexenclosure’s Vice President Sales Africa.

- With our focus on emerging markets – since our products are very suitable for off grid conditions – the opening of an office covering the important East African market is a natural step, hopefully followed by an ever better footprint on the African continent soon. The new office will be beneficial to ourselves and to our customers on the African market in many ways, including quicker and better support, better logistics and stronger and closer customer relations in general, said Stefan Jern, CEO, Flexenclosure.

- I look forward to be able to offer Flexenclosure’s advanced, environmentally friendly and cost saving solutions to all the network suppliers, operators and contractors in the region. With the recent downward pressure on cellphone charges in east Africa, the industry players should really take a good look at Flexenclosure’s highly impressive business case, said Jonas Högström, Vice President Sales Africa and Head of Flexenclosure’s new Nairobi office.

Jonas Högström has 20 years of experience from the IT and telecommunications industry with vast international experience from both the supplier and the carrier side, working in senior positions at Ericsson, IBM, TeliaSonera and Deutsche Telekom.

Before joining Flexenclosure Jonas Högström held a position as Business Development Executive for the Telecomunications Sector in the Sub Saharan market at IBM South Africa in Johannesburg. Mr. Högström holds a Master of Science in Business Management & Mechanical Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Massive savings in operating expenses and a reduction of CO2 emissions

Flexenclosure’s E-site soluiton is a revolutionary and “green” off-grid base station site solution powered mainly by renewable energy sources (sun and wind) and controlled by an intelligent control system, enabling massive savings in operating expenses and maintenance visits. Results from operations at sites in East Africa show a more than 90 per cent savings in fuel and a more than 80 per cent savings in operating expenses, and the reduction of the need for maintenance visits to only one per year. Emissions of carbon dioxide was also reduced by over 90 per cent.

Flexenclosure recently won the AfricaCom Green Telecoms Awards for its E-site solution as “an outstanding initiative or product which has improved telecommunication services in Africa with an environmentally-friendly approach since November 2009”.

Flexenclosure’s other core product area is high quality, modular and prefabricated switching stations specially designed to house sensitive switching and telecom equipment. The prefabricated modules, made of seam welded steel, shorten the time to revenue significantly.
