Kenyas yuMobile has launched a new social messaging tool, which will bring Facebook chat, G-Talk, Yahoo and MSN onto a single platform
Subscribers can keep in touch on all four commercial instant messaging planes at a time, without having to log in and out of each one of them.
The service has been made available to all yuMobile subscribers, including those without Internet-enabled handsets.
Announcing the launch of the latest service, country manager Madhur Taneja said, “It is imperative that we offer our customers the latest services to ensure we stay ahead in a highly-aggressive telecommunication industry.
“Unified messaging simplifies the entire instant messaging communications experience. We often have to launch separate applications to send and receive messages, which can be inconveniencing and inefficient. This innovative service is, however, doing away with all that,” he added.
The Facebook Service on the Unified Social Messaging platform offers a wide variety of services that include finding online friends, initiating a chat session, updating a status via sms and commenting on friends’ walls, as well as getting notifications on activities on Facebook, events and birthdays.
