Vodacom Tanzania has announced that customers will now receive free incoming calls and text messages (SMS) when travelling to nine other African countries
Customers will now receive free incoming calls and SMS as well as lower call and data rates while roaming on the Vodacom Lesotho, Vodacom Mozambique, Vodacom South Africa, Vodacom DR Congo, Vodafone Ghana, Safaricom Kenya, MTN Rwanda, MTN Uganda, UTL Uganda and UCOM Burundi networks.
“We know that people want to remain connected at an affordable rate whether they are at home or on holiday in South Africa or travelling for work in Ghana and that nobody likes the headache of worrying about roaming bills,” said Rene Meza, managing director at Vodacom Tanzania. “What we’re launching today is a solution to give our customers peace of mind when travelling.”
Meza went on to say that while data roaming was still expensive for most operators, Vodacom Tanzania was proud to reduce its data roaming charges substantially for customers travelling within the reach of any of its partner companies.
The offer is open to all Vodacom customers with either post-paid or pre-paid accounts.
