The latest addition to galaxy phones in the Kenya cellphone market is Samsung’s Galaxy SIII, which has been equipped with several interactive features

The phone is powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, which enhances its usability and expands its range of apps.

Samsung business leader for the East African Region, Robert Ngeru, said Kenya was the second country after South Africa to launch the phone in the continent.

“An interesting feature of the phone is its S Voice, which makes the device a talking phone that can also hear its user. This feature also enables the phone to read messages out loud,” said Ngeru.

With S Voice, users can tell the camera when to shoot, turn off alarms, answer or reject a call and adjust volume of music.

A 50MB cloud space will allow the user an large capability to store photos, data and music, and a spare parts hub has been developed in Nairobi to reduce service centre turnaround time.

Ngeru added that the phone has been on high-demand and that the company intends to acquire more than a 60 per cent share of the Kenyan smart phone market.
