Vodafone Ghana has launched Voice SMS 2.0 and a series of infotainment services in an attempt to improve customer experience
In a statement, Vodafone said that the new service would help the company position itself at the top of Ghana's mobile market offerings, especially after other companies in the country have also launched a number of initiatives in recent months.
"The Voice SMS service allows customers to compose, retrieve new and old messages, forward, delete and save options," the statement read. "Infotainment services include songs, bible messages, inspirational messages, dating tips, health tips, and a ‘bid and win’ competition. It also includes pay-per-use facilities to dedicate a song and dedicate a prayer.
"Voice SMS has many inherent advantages over text messaging, including customers’ abilities to send out messages even when on the move. It also empowers the illiterate, and people with visual or hearing impairments."
According to the company, the move will help it expand into rural areas.
Vodafone Ghana head of consumer marketing Tara Squire said, "We are happy to cater to our customers’ growing need to stay in touch using innovative tools like Voice SMS and Infotainment Services."
