African telecoms tower management firm Eaton Towers has appointed two new executives to help serve its growing Ghanaian operations

Gareth Townley, who has more than 10 years of experience working in African telecoms, has been assigned as Eaton managing director for its Ghanaian operations, while Adnan Quddus, who has more than 18 years of similar experience, is Eaton’s new chief financial officer for Ghana.

Eaton chief executive Alan Harper said, “Ghana is a key market for Eaton Towers and we are very pleased to welcome Gareth and Adnan to the team. We are confident that their combined experience and relevant track records will support our plans in the country.”

After commencing work in the West African country in 2010, Eaton now serves all of Ghana’s mobile operators and an increasing number of other radio infrastructure users.

In January 2012, Standard Bank Group granted a US$30mn debt facility to Eaton in order to build and develop both existing and new telecom towers across Ghana.

Furthermore, Eaton obtained a US$150mn equity investment in September 2011 from private investor Capital International Private Equity Funds (CIPEF).
