Sandvik, an equipment and solution providing firm, is ready to rollout its e-business initiative across Africa after the plan met with success in South Africa following its launch in November 2011

“The e-business initiative brings all the information, interaction and transactions between Sandvik and its customers onto a common platform,” said Sandvik e-Business manager Benedict Chaila.

“The company's e-business tool provides customers great control and visibility with procurement processes and enable cost saving,” added Chaila.

The two services that will be rolled out are across Africa will be @YourService and Direct Connect. Both @YourService and Direct Connect were piloted with two of Sandvik’s largest South African clients in November 2011 and each attempt met with success, claimed the firm.

Chaila said, “Those on both sides of the transaction can benefit from the system’s transparency and potential to improve costs and efficiencies.

"Fewer involvement of people in the transaction make it less likely for inaccuracies to pop up. Internet purchasing is the way of the future and the e-business systems will continue to develop and improve our service to customers,” he added.
