Sparkle, the International Services arm of Telecom Italia Group, and Telecommunication Infrastructure Company of Iran (TIC), announce today the signing of a partnership agreement for the expansion of Sparkle's Global IP Backbone Seabone in Iran with a new IP Point Of Presence (POP) in Teheran.
Through this new POP that will be in operation by end of this year, TIC will be able to support the increasing demand of IP services coming not only from the local market but also from neighbouring countries, therefore positioning itself as a main IP Hub in the region.
With this new fully resilient IP platform, TIC will be able to accelerate further in the development of digital and value added services in Iran and will provide access to the Big Internet to national and international players with optimised performance and scalability through Sparkle’s Seabone Global Tier-1 IP transit backbone.
“We are very pleased to be TIC's first international Tier-1 IP partner. This agreement combines TIC’s expertise in domestic and regional markets with Sparkle’s proven know-how on Global IP transit service”, says Alessandro Talotta, Sparkle's Chairman and CEO.“Through this partnership with TIC we are able to provide high grades of reliability and guaranteed service level agreements to Service Providers of the region and improve the user experience of Iranian customers”, concludes Talotta.
"We look forward to quickly implementing this partnership agreement," says Azari Jahromi, TIC's Chairman and CEO. "This is an important step in enhancing TIC's role as a regional player, and we are delighted to be a party to this promising venture." Azari Jahromi added.
