Ethiopia will host the 11th Innovation Africa Digital Summit in March 2013, the country’s ministry of communication and information technology has revealed

State minister Peter Gat Cot said the upcoming summit was aimed at discussing the need to create sustainable national growth and development of the African telecom and ICT ecosystem.

The ministry will be partnering with ICT service provider Extensia Ltd in hosting the conference and has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the company recently.

According to the state minister, the summit would be conducted under the theme “National Broadband Strategies and Agendas — Acceleration and Alignment,” and will be expected to have a role in creating technology and business integrity among nations and private sectors.

Gat Cot said the summit will be expected to bring together up to 350 organisations from around the world, including large ICT companies, minister delegations, regulators, major end users and international solution providers.

Extensia director of sales and marketing, Adrian Hall, said the summit would focus on national broadband agendas.

He underlined that the summit was instrumental in bringing together the reputed international technology companies and policy makers in the sector so that Ethiopia would benefit more from attracting international ICT investors and would be of paramount importance to further attract more investment into Ethiopia.
