South Korean technology giant Samsung walked away with three awards at the 18th Annual Global Mobile Awards at the GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona
Samsung won 'Best Smartphone' for its Galaxy S3 and 'Best Mobile Infrastructure' for its Smart LTE Networks, as well as the coveted 'Device Manufacturer of the Year' title.
Google and Asus shared the award for 'Best Mobile Tablet' for the Nexus 7, while the Nokia Asha 305 was named 'Best Feature Phone or Entry Level Phone'.
British comedian David Walliams hosted the award ceremony at the exhibition and was joined onstage by representatives from sponsors McAfee, Myriad and Telmap, and media partners CNBC, Fortune and Time.
GSMA Ltd CEO John Hoffman said, "Through these awards, we are proud to shine the light on the mobile industry's many innovators and leaders, from all corners of the world.
"This year's new categories reflected the industry's reach into many new sectors and we received more than 600 high-quality entries from across the mobile ecosystem."
The judging panel for the awards was made up of more than 170 industry experts, journalists and academics, and 13 representatives from a number of different mobile operators.
