Surfline Communications Limited, Ghana’s 4G LTE internet service provider, has partnered with the Ghana Library Authority (GhLA) to provide Wi-Fi connectivity to public library patrons in the Greater Accra Region

The executive director of Ghana Library Authority, Hayford Siaw, and the CEO of Surfline Communications Ltd, Rene Gameli-Kwame, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on behalf of their respective institutions.

Surline will design and implement a user subscription model for the Greater Accra regional library user network and provide live video streaming on Facebook for the year of reading project campaign.

Siaw indicated that the government is making the necessary investment in education to achieve its objective of providing quality and affordable education to all Ghanaians.

The GhLA has declared 2019 as the year of reading and this partnership will make the library accessible to more people by making the contents available online.

Siaw added that the project and the new direction is to make the GhLA a more connected space and that the partnership with Surfline is very strategic to realise this vision.

Gameli-Kwame commended the management of GhLA for such an initiative and pledged Surfline’s readiness to support and work towards realising this vision and even to go beyond the provision of internet connectivity.
