TeleCommunication Systems, (TCS) has opened a new sales office in Johannesburg, South Africa

Dealing with consumers across the globe who use TCS wireless apps, the office is set to be the central point of the company’s marketing and sales activities throughout Africa.

TCS has established several wireless applications, including text messaging, Internet content and hyper-local search, public safety services.

The telecommunications company has hired Andy Minnaar as the managing director of the new office, where he will handle the operation and sales side of the company’s various commercial software solutions including Location-Based Services (LBS).

The company provides customers with end-to-end wireless LBS solutions that include both branded and private-label applications, infrastructure, mapping and content for leading consumer brands, content providers and voice service providers worldwide, TCS said.

Working alongside government agencies, TCS also provides cyber security services for mission-critical communications.

TeleCommunication Systems set up the world’s first wireless location platform and it is one of the leading providers of LBS infrastructure, the company said.
