Ruckus Wireless has been named as the fastest growing Wi-Fi supplier within the worldwide market for enterprise wireless by technology research specialists Gartner

The US firm has also taken the top market share spot in the carrier Wi-Fi space, according to a separate industry study by industry information company Dell’Oro.

In the fourth quarter of 2011, Gartner revealed that Ruckus achieved the highest year-over-year revenue growth of all wireless LAN suppliers worldwide, growing by more than 134 per cent.

Ruckus Wireless vice president of marketing, Robert Mustarde, said, “Given our late entrance into the enterprise wireless LAN market, our growth is a remarkable achievement by anyone’s standards.

“Our hope is to continue this fast growth as the market sends a very clear message that they want Wi-Fi that simply delivers more reliable wireless connections, capacity and insane performance.”

The company has more than 12,000 customers worldwide and has been working with a number of solutions partners from African.

Gartner’s recently published report, Market Share: Enterprise WLAN Equipment, Worldwide, 4Q11, revealed that Ruckus saw vendor revenue rise by 181 per cent in Q4 2011, compared to the same period in 2010, and enjoyed 289 per cent growth in the number of unit shipments of WLAN coordinated access points for the same respective periods.

The firm increased its sequential quarterly market share from 3.7 to 4.9 percent worldwide, the report revealed.

According Dell’Oro’s study on the wireless market, Ruckus shipped more than 26,000 Wi-Fi mesh access points to carriers, which was representative of a 26.7 per cent share of service provider Wi-Fi mesh node shipments.
