Telecommunications services company Airtel has created data bundles for Android users in Nigeria, becoming the first telecoms company in Nigeria to offer the service

The new launch is in line with the company’s aim of enabling affordable Internet access for residents in the country, Airtel revealed.

“At Airtel, we are positioned as Nigeria’s number one mobile Internet company just as we are committed to making life simpler, more enjoyable and really exciting for our customers. We understand that our Internet bundle for Android users will help increase productivity, boost personal relations, family happiness and business profitability,” stated Maurice Newa, the company's chief commercial officer.

The new Android Internet bundle plan targets Android users who want to connect with business associates, family and friends, offering them a data experience on their smartphones, said Airtel.

Airtel customers will have to dial *437 to sign up for the 2G Android Bundle or *437# for the 2G Android Bundle or *438~ for the 4.GB Bundle, according to the telecoms firm.

The 2GB and 4.5GB Bundles will be available at a rate of US$12 and US$21 respectively and will expire after 30 days, Airtel confirmed.
