Connect Africa has announced that it has entered into a partnership with Zambian engineering and construction firm, Likusasa Zambia, in its aim to improve the lives of rural people and communities in Africa

The two companies will connect rural communities to current mobile networks by rolling out innovative cost-effective base stations that allow rural communities to further boost mobile phone ownership numbers across Africa.

Zambia-based telecommunications and service solutions company, Connect Africa, said it would aim to build a ICT driven service business based in Lusaka that would 'improve the lives of rural Africans'.

Sectors such as education, agriculture and health services are set to improve along with other public and private sector service to rural communities from the new connectivity which uses state-of-the-art technology, Connect Africa said.

At a recent ceremony held in Mumbwa District to praise the work of key players who have been working to enhance the livelihoods of rural people, Connect Africa special projects director Dion Jerling said, “Traditional leaders play a pivotal role in the well-being and prosperity of communities, particularly in remote areas, and their strong leadership can help their people to be part of the global village.”
