Established in 2002 to address a telecommunications market gap in Somalia, Hormuud Telecom Somalia, Inc. is headquartered in Mogadishu, and currently serves over one million subscribers. The new deployment is part of a long standing relationship between Aviat and Hormuud Telecom, which has already installed over 200 Eclipse series radios.
Hormuud Telecom Somalia, Inc. offers a variety of telecommunications services in Southern and Central Somalia including GSM, fixed line and data services. Since its formation, Hormuud Telecom’s focus and commitment to excellence in customer care and quality of service has ensured year on year growth and Hormuud Telecom is now the nation’s number one operator in terms of subscribers and service. In addition, Hormuud Telecom has received numerous awards in recognition of its grass-roots work in developing the local community welfare including supporting educational institutions, sanitary improvement and water supply. Hormuud employs over 4,000 people, comprised of full time and part time staff, dealers, etc., across its Telecommunication Engineering, Customer Services, Sales, and Marketing Departments.
