WiniGroup, a US-based IT security company, has partnered with MobileIron to improve mobile security in Nigeria
According to allAfrica.com, Tim Akano, vice-chairman of WiniGroup, expressed his excitement about the potential of the company’s partnership with MobileIron.
“WiniGroup as a company focuses on IT security, risk and compliance and business solutions with strong partnerships with over 30 global IT security firms. Wini Group has seen the great need for Nigerians also to have mobile security because of the increase in the use of smart phones in the country,” Akano said.
“This partnership will boost mobile security, which is one major issue that Nigerian corporate organisations need to focus a great deal of attention on,” he added.
WiniGroup said the need to secure companies and their information had led to increased investment in mobile security. In case of employee resignation or theft of devices, MobileIron has the ability to protect, delete and separate corporate and personal data on mobile devices.
Akano explained that the goal of mobile security was not to restrict but to enable broad-based capabilities and to remain as invisible as possible to the end user. MobileIron is used by Fortune 500 organisations to protect their information, data and devices.
Despite being on the market for less than three years, MobileIron was awarded the highest rating in the 2012 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Mobile Device Management Software.
