Telecom major Orange has signed a deal with French satellite provider Eutelsat Communications to utilise C-band capacity on the Eutelsat 3B satellite
The Eutelsat 3B satellite targets the African enterprises market, and increases Orange Business Services’ capabilities across Africa.
With the renewed capacity, Orange Business Services can improve its services to enterprise customers and serve Orange’s internal needs, stated officials from the company.
Through this deal, C-band transponders, which have been leased by the telecom company on the Eutelsat 5 West A and Eutelsat 10A satellites, will be enhanced. The additional capacity will notably benefit enterprises operating in Africa that need reliable VSAT connectivity between geographically dispersed offices, including offshore sites, added officials from Orange.
Eutelsat B was launched in May 2014 to increase Eutelsat’s footprint at 3º East orbital position to reach Europe, Africa, Middle East, Central Asia and Brazil.
