Cellulant, a leading payments technology company, is set to transform African business payments by introducing a comprehensive range of online and offline payment solutions

The African payments market is growing rapidly, but the lack of a unified payment infrastructure poses a challenge for businesses entering the continent. Founded in 2003, Cellulant aims to address this by developing an all-encompassing payment infrastructure, offering a single API payment platform.

This platform enables businesses to collect payments from mobile money, local and international cards, and banks, both online and offline. With Africa hosting 70% of the global US$1 trillion mobile money market, Cellulant's initiative addresses the need for diverse payment methods, especially since card penetration rates are only at 3%.

At the Harvard Africa Business Conference, Cellulant CEO, Akshay Grover, emphasised the importance of solving payment challenges to boost economic growth. Cellulant's payment platform, Tingg, connects over 370 payment methods from mobile money operators, banks, and global card switches like Visa and Mastercard, catering to various sectors and providing a seamless payment experience.
