The USA-based communication solutions provider 308 Systems has deployed TAC-PAK/VSAT systems for the military, peacekeeping and first responders in Africa

TAC-PAK/VSAT is a satcom mobile command system, which will ensure fast and effective responses during critical missions.

It will ensure swift and accurate data transmission during military actions or disaster response within countries such as Angola, Chad, Nigeria, and South Africa, according to the company.

The TAC-PAK/VSAT systems are custom-configured to meet specific field communication requirements, which includes linking field radios to cell phones and computers throughout the country.

A company source said, “TAC-PAK/VSAT systems have VSAT data rates of up to six mbps. This will provide easy and efficient communication to the military forces in Ethiopia, Ghana and Sudan. This system is also very small and highly portable, which can effectively turn any local vehicle into a Mobile Command Center.”

Additional products such as the SATPAK wireless relay systems can also be combined to TAC-PAK/VSAT to ensure a reliable satcom and radio signal access from any area.
