loewe technologies 1105848 unsplashResponse Architects, a multichannel retail business, has announced the launch of Nigeria’s first international teleshopping platform, Shopex TV

Shopex TV uses television as the main channel and is designed to provide the Nigerian market with a wide range of lifestyle, fitness and kitchen products that they can access at an affordable price by simply using their mobile phones to order.

As the exclusive distributors in Africa for some of the most successful ‘As Seen On TV’ products, Shopex TV is positioned to give Nigerians direct access to leading products from the global market, the company stated.

The platform was founded by Isi Abebe, who moved back to Nigeria after working with one of the TV shopping companies in the UK.

The channel recently completed its first round of financing with investment from television shopping and broadcasting advisors Expert Media Partners (EMP), based in Soho, London.

Ed Hall, managing partner of EMP, said, “We have worked on complex broadcast projects in Nigeria since 2003, and have developed plans for television shopping in East and West Africa in the past so we know the importance of having the right team in place. Abebe has a wealth of experience and contacts within the global Direct response television (Drtv) industry and the proposition is compelling, so we’re delighted to be early-stage investors in this business.”

Isi Abebe, managing director of Shopex TV, added, "We're excited about this project having observed Nigeria's logistics and payment platforms mature over the years. We're confident that we can make it work and we have a line-up of great products and offers from across the globe that we feel will appeal to the Nigerian market.”
