The Bank of Kigali has joined forces with multi-channel e-payment solutions provider, iVeri Payment Technologies, to offer e-commerce payment services to customers in Rwanda

The new e-commerce payment facility, which aims to prevent online transaction fraud, was important in “the tourism and entertainment industries” as modern travellers do all their bookings online, said Lawson Naibo, Bank of Kigali operating officer.

"We are delighted to take the lead in providing Rwanda with a gateway to the world of e-commerce and iVeri, provides a multi-channel Payment Gateway that meets our requirements as we seek to enhance our service offerings," said Naibo.

"This marks a significant move in providing innovative and convenient financial services to our customers. We are committed to harnessing the advanced capabilities of technology to improve our service to customers and the decision to invest in iVeri technology is another example of this."

The Bank of Kigali has previously joined forces with other African business centres since being set-up in 1998.
