Cell C has launched two data promotion plans in an attempt to offer more value to late night and early morning Internet users in South Africa
The company informed that the new plans were drawn up in response to customer demand.
The GigaNite bundles, which will offer cheaper data for use from midnight until 6am, will be available from 10 October 2012.
A company statement said that customers could opt for the 10GB bundle plan or the 20GB bundle plan and use it on any Cell C SmartData postpaid contract depending on their overnight data needs.
Cell C chief executive officer Alan Knott-Craig said, “Since we have significant capacity available on our network at night, we decided to pass on this benefit to customers and offer data at extremely competitive rates during this time period. Our GigaNite bundles work out to be less than 2c per MB.”
The GigaNite data bundle will automatically be loaded at the beginning of every month and will be valid until the end of that calendar month, added he.
“Customers have been asking for larger data bundles that they can use for overnight downloads and surfing, and Cell C is pleased to be able to meet their requests,” said Knott-Craig.
