Airtel and Zoona Zambia have joined forces, enabling their customers to access Airtel Mobile Money services across Zambia
Airtel Zambia managing director, Charity Lumpa, said that Airtel Money customers will be able to visit any Zoona agents in the country to deposit or withdraw cash instantly.
“Airtel has entered into a strategic partnership with Zoona Zambia Transaction Limited to enhance the effective and faster transmission of money in Zambia as well as the number of outlets from which transactions in Airtel Money can be enjoyed,” Lumpa said.
According to Lumpa, the Airtel Money product is a direct response to the Zambian government’s call to provide services to the unbanked Zambians across the country.
The new partnership is expected to help all Airtel customers register their SIM cards at any Zoona centre.
Zoona Zambia managing director, Lelimba Phiri, said the new partnership is an industry-first and leverages the unique strengths of both parties to accelerate the adoption of Mobile Money by consumers in Zambia.
