Mahindra Comviva has announced that its Mobile Data Platform (MDP) has gone live with MTN in Congo-Brazzaville

The announcement was made at Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona, Spain by Madan Onkar, vice president and head of Internet and broadband solutions at Mahindra Comviva.

Onkar said, “As a market leader in Congo-Brazzaville, MTN required a solution that addresses the new data challenges and monetises its data infrastructure across its network.

“With our MDP, MTN will be able to achieve bandwidth management, optimise user experience and offer differentiated data plans in multi-vendor core network setup that spans 2G, 3G and Wi-MAX, at the same time being flexible to localise the platform to meet their needs,” he added.

The MDP will help MTN to manage, optimise and monetise its data infrastructure by employing intelligent bandwidth management techniques, such as dynamic bandwidth throttling, Mahindra Comviva said.

The platform will also provide real-time advice for charges, notifications and credit/usage limits to subscribers on home and roaming networks for bill shock management over all communication channels such as SMS, USSD, web application, the company added.

MTN will now be able to offer a range of personalised data plans to its subscribers in the country, Mahindra Comviva noted.
