A lot of hard work and careful management are put into growing a stable business

Welland Power has succeeded in being included in the Export Track 100. This list, which includes some huge names is designed to showcase the leading private companies in the UK.

Export can be a particularly challenging area of expansion, with competition tough and exporters around the world competing for the same markets, often from a lower cost base. Given the tough world markets, exporting almost 1600 diesel generators last year from 8-2750kVA mostly powered by Perkins engines along with some smaller inverter generators, Welland Power has achieved what many may wish to emulate. Inverter generators are generally smaller machines that produce better quality power.

While Welland Power is known for its export, they also have a sister business, Regency Power Generation which specialises in UK generator projects. These projects can be small installations to datacentre refits and this breadth of the customer allows us to meet the customers need in even the most advanced applications.

Managing director Charlie Farrow, when asked how the growth was possible, replied, “Growth is only possible with the help of your employees (team), your suppliers and customers. Investment in new technology and running the business in the interests of everyone is more important as the years pass. Above all, honesty, integrity and consistency with all the people you deal with is key to building a brand that everyone can believe in."
