Global satellite firm ABS has announced it has hired Flavien Bachabi as the managing director of Africa

According to the company, Flavien will be managing the sales and business operations for the African continent.

"We are excited to have Flavien on board at ABS, heading up our African operations. As the regional Head of Sales, he will be responsible for managing and developing new business for the market," said Tom Choi, CEO of ABS.

"Flavien has more than 30 years of experience in the satellite and telecommunication industry and has extensive knowledge of the Africa market. His expertise and leadership skills will contribute to our expansion for this growing continent.”

Choi also revealed that before joining the firm, Flavien was the vice president of Business Operations and Intergovernmental Initiatives.

"He has also spent 15 years in senior positions with Benin Telecommunications and served on international councils and committees including the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), the African Telecommunications Union (ATU) and the Regional African Satellite Communications Organization (RASCOM). He is also a sitting board member of the Advisory Board of the Smart Sustainable Development Model (SSDM) of ITU," added Choi.
