The two beams, which are now in full operation, have been positioned to create a comprehensive VSAT Ku-Band network, NSSLGlobal Ltd said.

The first beam operates Intelsats IS21 satellite to support the commercial maritime sector, with the beam mainly covering the South Atlantic region.

This beam supported the NSSLGlobal TL11 North Atlantic beam which is part of the international coverage offered by NSSLGlobal Ltd.

“With the most extensive coverage offered in the industry these new beams are another indication of NSSLGlobal’s commitment in providing a premium satellite communications service to our customers,” said Sally-Anne Ray, NSSLGlobal managing director.

According to NSSL Global, current and new customers on commercial vessels and super yachts are expected to benefit from the extra beams which come through Intelsat’s Rugby-based Earth Station.
