G+D Mobile Security will open a personalisation bureau in Johannesburg on 13 August to provide financial companies in Southern and Central Africa with comprehensive local services for the personalisation of payment cards

Further to the complete physical and digital personalisation of payment cards, the new centre aims to provide additional services including the direct delivery of cards to end customers in individual packaging, the option of delivery tracking or smart document generation as a service.

With the new facility, G+D Mobile Security is investing in the emerging economy of South and Central Africa and doubling its workforce in this region. The company is expanding its personalisation capacities.

In the first phase, the Johannesburg bureau will have a capacity of around 10 million personalised cards per year. In the second phase, this capacity is expected to be expanded to 17 million cards per year.

The local presence is set to enable shorter processing times for customer orders, faster delivery of cards to end customers and allows G+D to react more directly to new regional requirements in 28 countries, according to the company.

Carsten Wengel, head of sales for financial solutions at G+D Mobile Security, said that the solution is seen to enable the company to help Africa overcome the challenges of digital change and seize global opportunities.
